
Ella He is a senior from Parsippany, New Jersey, majoring in Public Policy and Global Health, with a certificate in Child Policy Research. During her time at Duke, she has been involved with the Duke Center for Child and Family Policy, serving as a research assistant for the Infant-Toddler Trauma-Informed Care, Resilience and Learning, and Community Schools programs. She has participated in several Bass Connections teams, including Duke and the Evolution of Higher Education and Policy Strategies to Address Child Maltreatment. Additionally, she conducts research with the Margolis Institute for Health Policy on interventions aimed at alleviating the financial burden of cancer care, with the goal of developing and implementing programs to reduce financial toxicity within Duke Cancer Clinics. Ella has also worked with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, first as an intern in the Office of Charter Schools and later as a John M. Belk Impact Fellow with the Hunt Institute, working in the policy and evaluation division. She aims to continue advancing work at the intersection of health and education policy to improve outcomes and enhance the well-being of children and families across North Carolina and the nation.
