Ava Liebmann

Ava Liebmann is a senior from Mamaroneck, New York majoring in Public Policy with minors in Global Health and Psychology. Ava has done extensive research studying cattle raiding in South Sudan, and was recently published as a chapter author in The Fragility Index: A Household Survey in South Sudan: A Research Partnership Between IOM South Sudan and Duke University. She has also done research studying international peacebuilding on a broader scale, focusing on transitional justice mechanisms. Outside of her research, Ava works as the Head TA for Policy Choice as Value Conflict and a writing consultant with the Thompson Writing Program. Ava is a coxswain on Duke’s varsity rowing team and was selected as the spare coxswain for the 2024 Paralympics. Post-grad, Ava plans to pursue a career in public interest law.
