Charlie is a senior from Claremont, California, majoring in Political Science and Public Policy, with an emphasis on international relations in his coursework. He is particularly passionate about studying how we might use and improve domestic and international policy tools to mitigate violent conflict. On campus, he is the President of the Duke International Relations Association (DIRA) and previously served as the Secretary-General of the 38th Duke University Model United Nations Conference (DUMUNC). He has also been actively involved in on-campus research on topics spanning from the economic impacts of the Russo-Ukrainian War to the domestic sources of U.S. foreign policy. Following graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in international relations and ultimately a career with the U.S. Department of State.
