The Duke Global Policy (DGP) Program in Geneva

The Duke Global Policy (DGP) Program in Geneva is the only program of its kind. We prepare graduate and professional students from around the world to tackle the world’s most pressing policy challenges.

There are two ways to participate:

Intensive Course Week

(the possibility of the Summer 2021 Course Week will be determined in December 2020. Please return to this website then for updates and potentially an open application period)

Students enroll in an Intensive week of courses. Topics include:

Students learn how international and non-governmental organizations in Geneva are addressing today’s most pressing global challenges. The week includes meetings with practitioners, site visits to Geneva-based IGOs and NGOs, networking events, professional coaching, group case simulations, and a culminating policy memo assignment. It’s a rigorous week that shapes students’ professional and personal ambitions, and earns participants 3 academic credits from Duke University.

This program is ideal for individuals who have a restrictive summer schedule, but are still interested in gaining practical policy experience in Geneva, Switzerland.

Intensive Course Week + Internship

(Tentatively available in Summer 2022 )

In addition to the course week, many students stay for the summer and complete an internship at area agencies. Participants who choose this option gain unparalleled access to UN agencies and other leading Geneva-based institutions. This program is ideal for individuals who can spend a longer time in Geneva.
