Zeren was originally from Shanghai and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He recently graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Sociology. During his undergraduate years, he excelled as a research assistant at the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs, focusing on studying global “Black Spots.” Additionally, he served as President and Chair of Academic Affairs and Research at a student-run think tank, delving into topics like the AUKUS Pact, Nord Stream Pipelines, China’s carbon neutrality plan, and Sino-US relations. Zeren’s open-mindedness, friendly demeanor, and passion for public service fuel his interest in pursuing a Master of Public Policy at Sanford. He enjoys movies, traveling, and supporting hometown sports teams in his free time.
