Michael is originally from St Louis, Missouri. Before arriving at Sanford, he lived several years abroad, studying for his undergraduate in International Relations and Modern History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland and going on exchange to Hong Kong, Poland, and the Netherlands. His research interests revolve around US economic policy and international trade.
