As a former AmeriCorps member and a legislative aide with over three years of work experience in the Ohio Statehouse, James Sullivan brings insight into the legislative process and a desire to serve the public. He is currently studying at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University as a Master of Public Policy candidate.
A magna cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University’s business school, James started interning on campaigns as a student. Reflecting on his service and his love for policy and politics, James added a second major (Philosophy, Politics, & Economics) and a minor (Public Policy).
Mr. Sullivan started in the Ohio Legislature as a page in the Ohio Senate, and after interning in the US Senate, came back to the Legislature as a full-time aide in the Ohio House of Representatives. He has worked closely under Ohio’s preeminent reformer of property tax & the Ohio Democrats’ chief redistricting negotiator. Other policy areas of interest include housing, the economy, education, and the environment.
James is from Columbus, Ohio. He is an Eagle Scout, TEDx speaker, and sponsored mountaineer.
