Isabel (Izzy) Bailey is from McLean, Virginia, and grew up in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Wesleyan University in May 2025 with a double major in Government and American Studies. While at Wesleyan, she served as a Research Assistant in the Government Department, contributing to a legal research project on the relationship between state courts and state legislatures, and worked as a Teaching Assistant for a Civil Rights and Civil Liberties course. Izzy gained policy experience through internships with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of Policy and Strategic Planning under Secretary Gina Raimondo and with the Democratic staff of the House Rules Committee. She also volunteered with Girls Inc., a national nonprofit focused on empowering young women. These experiences deepened her commitment to public service and inspired her to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy. Her academic and professional interests center on social policy, with a particular focus on economic justice and improving the lives of children and families. In her free time, Izzy enjoys singing and songwriting, as well as running and practicing yoga.
