Allyson is a dual-degree student at the Sanford School and Duke Law School. She grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 with degrees in Global Studies and Hispanic Literatures and Cultures. She spent a year and a half working in refugee resettlement in Durham, North Carolina before moving to Raleigh to join Attorney General Josh Stein’s reelection campaign. After the election, she joined the North Carolina Department of Justice as a Communications and Policy Assistant, primarily focusing on public records and the Governor’s Task Force on Racial Equity in Criminal Justice. Allyson is particularly passionate about exploring the role of state and local government in social policy change. She is a published author and in her free time, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, reading, and creative writing.
