Cleaning Out Your Mailboxes, Lockers & Items from the Student Lounge
You will not have access to Duke buildings after May 9 at 5 PM. Mailboxes and lockers should be cleaned out by Tuesday, May 4. Please be sure to remove any of your items from the student lounge, including food items in the graduate lounge refrigerators and cabinets.
Updating Your W2 Mailing Address
If you are on the monthly or bi-weekly payroll, you will need to update your address upon your graduation. Otherwise, when your W-2 is sent out directly from payroll in January 2022, it will go to the address on file. You can change your address through Duke@Work once you know your new address. Or, if you prefer, you can use a permanent address that you know won’t change. However, once you are taken off payroll, you won’t have access to Duke@Work and will need to notify Sanford HR to make the change for you.
If you have received a stipend through the non-compensatory system at Duke during 2021, you will need to have your address updated as well. This system doesn’t allow you to change it online so Sanford HR would need to do that for you. Otherwise, if no change is made, the payroll form, which is sent directly from the payroll office, will be sent to that address on file.
Changing your address through DukeHub will NOT change your payroll records. These are two different systems, and they don’t interact with each other.
Post-Graduation Work with Faculty or Centers
If you will be working with Sanford staff, faculty, or any Centers housed at Sanford after June 2021, please be sure to contact Sanford HR.
Sanford IT
Cleaning Out Your H: Drive
Access to your Sanford home directory and shared space will remain active until June 30. Please copy the files you need off the network. If you need access beyond June 30 please let Stan Paskoff know.
NetID
Your student access to NetID services will remain active for exactly one year after your graduation date. After that one year you will lose access to all NetID services including email, box.com, duke@work, etc. In about a year you will get an email from Duke about how to create an alumni email address.
Please refer back to Duke OIT’s Leaving Duke page for a more comprehensive list of the availability of Duke services and their timeline post-graduation.
DukeBox
If you have been using Box, Duke OIT recommends the following: Download any data you wish to keep to a local storage device or set up a Box personal account then transfer ownership from your Duke Box account to your personal Box account. Please remember a personal Box account has a quota of 10 GB with a maximum file size of 250 MB.
