Victoria Griffin is an MPP student at Sanford, with interests in education, environmental, and tech policy. Prior to pursuing her graduate education, her experience was primarily in the non-profit sector supporting stakeholders in education. As a policy fellow at the Fannie Lou Hamer Institute, she researched school push-out and its disproportionate effect on Black girls. Transitioning into a community partner management role with The Village Mentoring, Inc., she established mentorship programs with underfunded public schools to support Black males. As a fellow with EducationNC, a journalism platform and non-profit organization working to expand educational opportunities in North Carolina, Victoria continued to engage with students and educators alike, writing many articles to highlight equity gaps in the state at all education levels. Victoria also spent two years in the private sector supporting DEI and communications, fully informing her vision for sufficiently-funded and culturally-competent learning environments.
A native of North Carolina, Victoria is a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. In her spare time, she enjoys anything music related including deejaying and collecting vinyls, baking, and weightlifting.
