Audrey Meigs (she\/her) is a first year Master’s student at the Duke Sanford School of Public Policy. She is a Chinese American adoptee who was born in Yueyang and grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. Audrey graduated from Davidson College in 2023 with her degree in Political Science and East Asian Studies. She served as the Program Assistant for Educator Diversity at The Hunt Institute, analyzing policy initiatives and bringing together legislators across the country to strategize the best practices to create a diverse educator workforce. Audrey also worked at North Carolina Asian Americans Together as the Senior Policy and Advocacy Coordinator. In this role, she led the organization’s endorsement process, created advocacy opportunities for community members, and held legislative relationships in the NC General Assembly. By emphasizing the importance of intersectionality and cultural competence, Audrey hopes her work encourages historically marginalized people to exercise their voice and advocate for progressive policy change together.
