Dingyun (Michael) Cui is a first year MPP student at Duke Sanford. He grew up in Beijing, China, and graduated from Carleton College in 2024 with degrees in Political Science, History, and European Studies. Michael is deeply interested in topics ranging from qualitative political science research—such as populism, ethnic conflict, and state building—to health equity and fair housing. He is eager to work at the intersection of law and policy to advocate for underrepresented social groups. Outside of his academic pursuits, Michael enjoys playing tennis and badminton, weightlifting, and skiing.
